What to do
Please do not kill the snake, leave it alone and follow the recommended actions.
If the snake is spotted in your property, make a note of the location, then contact a snake hander. Where possible watch the snake from a safe distance to enable the snake handler to locate the reptile easier on arrival.
If inside a house evacuate people and pets from the house, where possible try to restrict the snake to an area by shutting doors and windows, if it can be done whilst keeping a safe distance from the reptile. Ideally possible observe exit points of the closed-off area till the snake handler arrives to safely remove the snake.
Contact detail for snake handlers in Yzerfontein; Anton Bouwer 082 371 0578 or Johan Snyman: 082 370 9768.
